L'Associazione Culturale Terra mia Cucina, Tradizione, Cultura e Società... nasce con l'obiettivo di diffondere una corretta educazione alimentare per la tutela della salute delle persone e la valorizzazione dei prodotti locali a vocazione biologica di alta qualità.È risaputo che molte delle patologie che oggi stanno diffondendosi in modo endemico trovano origine in una dieta inconsapevole che non tiene conto del reale fabbisogno nutritivo del corpo. Oggi il cibo spazzatura è troppo diffuso a livelli allarmanti. Allo stesso tempo la Sicilia con i suoi molteplici microclimi è un piccolo continente che ospita la più varia biodiversità.
Sotto questo nome oggi vengono racchiuse tutte le colture agricole locali che fino a poco tempo fa erano rimaste ad uso e consumo dei pochi contadini che producevano per famiglia. Uno dei vantaggi dei prodotti che vengono definiti come appartenenti alla biodiversità hanno la caratteristica di essere nutrienti più dei prodotti a registro nazionale delle colture e di essere in alcuni casi curative e preventive anche delle peggiori patologie, come il tumore.
In questa prospettiva l'associazione si propone di fare informazione al pubblico attraverso convegni sulla sana alimentazione e sulla correlazione tra l'insorgere di patologie e un alimentazione poco curata e disattenta alle materie prime.
La biodiversità grazie alla sua ricchezza offre vantaggi di sviluppo economico notevoli. In tempi di crisi le microfiliere che si rivolgono a mercati di nicchia che sono in crescita esponenziale, rappresentano un modo efficace di rilanciare l'economia e allo stesso tempo di essere fortemente etici verso l'ambiente che ci circonda.
